You have chosen the right area to be in: There are still a lot to be done. It gets pretty interesting if you think of this problem in three dimensions: time, frequency and space (i.e. MIMO). The challenge is how to come up with close-to-optimum (according to a certain criterion) while maintaining an acceptable real-time performance using existing hardware.

Congrats Maher, this is a well deserved degree !

Suggest you squeeze a few more publications out of it since you have time for it now. Or better still, a write book applying this research to LTE terminals… my impression of the LTE industry is that it is till behind on the terminal side which needs low power and faster processing algorithms.
